Soreng, 16 Feb (IPR): Ms Yishey D Yongda, District Collector/District Election Officer (DEO) Soreng held a coordination meeting with the Nodal Officers designated for the General Elections 2024. Held at the Conference Hall, DAC, the meeting had the presence of Mr Dhiraj Subedi (ADC/Dy. DEO), Mr DR Bista (SDM HQ), Mr Sunny Kharel (SDM Soreng), Mr Gaayas Pega ADC (Development), Mr CP Shilal DSP(HQ), along with Nodal & Sector Officers, officials of the Static Surveillance Teams, Flying Squads & Video Surveillance Teams.
Drawing everyone’s attention to the importance of smooth coordination for General Elections ‘24, the DEO emphasised on the importance on roles and responsibilities of all officials with the work assigned to them. She urged all present to go through the handbooks and material provided to them by DEO’s office and to acquaint themselves thoroughly on election laws, regulations and reporting protocols as stipulated. In conclusion the DEO stressed on the importance of team work for conducting free and fair elections.
Dy. DEO Mr. Subedi requested for submission of Form 12 on priority, urging attendees to seek clarity on their roles and responsibilities especially those being put on duty for the first time.
Highlighting the pivotal role of Sector Magistrates, Mr. Kharel underscored the importance of comprehensive knowledge and proficiency in Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) operation.
The meeting concluded with SDM Soreng delivering the vote of thanks and also instruction for all Sector Magistrates to attend the 2nd round of training for Presiding and Polling Officers.
