Ranipool, 15 Oct (IPR): Hon’ble Governor Shri Ganga Prasad visited Kanchi Kamakoti Temple at Jalipool in East Sikkim today. The Governor offered his prayers at the Kanchi Kamakoti Temple and attended a Puja ceremony (Gayatri Hawan) organised by the Kanchi Kamakoti Samiti. During the function, the Governor interacted with the local priests, local public and the representatives from the Chinmaya Mission.
Later, the Governor visited Kalyan Ashram at Ranipool where he had a fruitful interactive session with the orphan students from Kalyan Ashram, students and participants from Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Manipur, Darjeeling and Sikkim undergoing the skill development programme on “Green House Technology” at College of Agricultural Engineering and Post-Harvest Technology (CAEPHT), Ranipool.
While spending some quality time interacting with the orphan children from Kalyan Ashram, the Governor advised them to study well and take up more games and sports activities and aspire to become successful citizens of the country. The students from Kalyan Ashram presented rendition of patriotic songs before the Governor and enthralled the gathering with their performances.
The Governor also presented gifts to the children from Kalyan Ashram. He inspected the hostel, study room, dining hall and other infrastructures in the Ashram and showed his satisfaction at the functioning of the Kalyan Ashram.
