A one-day Motivational Programme on Drug Abuse

Soreng, 18 May, (IPR): A one-day Motivational Programme on Drug Abuse, Value based Education and Mental Health and wellness was conducted at the auditorium hall of Government Senior Secondary School of Buriakhop, Soreng District organised by SAARTHI NGO.
The programme was graced by the Chief Patron of the SAARTHI and Advisor to HCM Shri Rohit Raj Maharaj as the chief guest accompanied by Chairman PHE Shri Hari Narayan Subedi, Zilla Panchayat Member Smt Anju Gurung, Panchayat president of Dodak GPU Shri H.K. Chettri, DC Soreng Shri Bhim Thatal, CEO Education Department Soreng Shri K.B Chettri, Deputy Director Education Department Shri N.K. Khewa, State Panchayat Cell Secretary Shri Gopal Gurung, Panchayat Members from Dodak and Buriakhop GPU, Principal Government Senior Secondary School Buriakhop Shri B.R Sharma, President SAARTHI East Shri Hari Rizal, General Secretary SAARTHI East Shri Bishal Sharma, Head Mistress Government Secondary School Dodak Smt. Bina Moktan and Staffs.
Shri Maharaj presented PPT on awareness on Drug Abuse, Promotion of mental well-being and Moral value based Education.
DC Soreng expressed his experience and learning system during his childhood days and shared moral based education with the students and gatherings. He added to focus on moral based education rather than value based education. He informed the gatherings regarding Soreng as an Aspirational District and added that the Soreng District is focused on health and education sector. He also briefed about Nasha Mukt Bharat.
Shri Rizal briefed about the work ethics of the organisation. He informed the rising issues of the state that is Drug Abuse. He thanked the Chief Minister for the vision to eradicate drug abuse from the state. Further he stated that the organisation is aiming on the prevention of drug abuse in schools and communities, mental health issues, and moral based education.
Shri Bishal talked about the aims and objectives of the organisation. SAARTHI and Titan Private limited are working on a pilot project in Sikkim to eradicate drug abuse in the state. Two teachers from every schools in Sikkim will be trained for the students regarding substantial abuse. The organisation will implement their project from next financial year that is 2024-2025 in 14 different Senior Secondary Schools within Soreng District.
Later, Shri Rohit Raj Maharaj and his team visited the construction site of Vrindavan at Dodak for the site inspection.
