Gyalshing District Zilla Panchayat successfully conducted the second Inter-Territorial Constituency Exchange Programme

Gyalshing, April 17 (IPR):Zilla Panchayat Members of Gyalshing District Zilla Panchayat in continuation of
Inter-Territorial Constituency Exchange Programme reached 16 Pecherek Hee Martam GPU and 17 Bermiok Berthang GPU, today.
The visit was under the aegis of Hon’ble Zilla Adhakshya Shri Dhan Singh Limboo, Zilla Up-Adhakshya Smt Anita Rai, District Collector-cum -Sachiva (GDZP) Ms Yishey D Yongda.
Others present in the tour programme were members of the 17 TCs, SDM Dentam, BDO Hee Martam, HDO Zilla, ADO, BTM, Panchayat Inspector, VLW circle in charge ( Martam Pechreck), Panchayat President and members of the concerned GPKs and concerned departmental representatives from BAC Hee Martam.
The visiting dignitaries commenced the second phase of the Inter-Territorial Constituency Exchange Programme from Medhavi Skill University situated at Middle Bermiok wherein, a warm welcome was accorded by faculties of the University, Panchayat President and Members of Bermiok Berthang GPK. A brief deliberation was held at the conference hall where the inception of the university and its academic prolific was discussed. A token of appreciation was also bestowed upon dignitaries by MSU faculties. Thereafter, proceeded toward Mr P B Gautam Model Farm at Berthang, under Bermiok Berthang GPK wherein Mr Bivek Sharma BTM Atma Agriculture department deliberated on Vermi Composting and Nutritional Management on Sikkim Mandarin.
DC Gyalshing Ms Yongda at the Vermi Compositing Site enquired about the procedure for making the vermicompost, the timeline required for the final production and other relevant information in pertinent. DC after patiently hearing the request for intervention of visiting team floored by Mr Sharma, assured to provide assistance in favour that she believed to be profoundly beneficial to the general public. Prior to that, the team visited Mr R B Rai’s Orange Farm situated at Arithang Daragaon. Thereafter, proceeded toward Mr Dilli Ram Timshina’s Vermi Compositing site at Rafong ward under Martam GPU.
Later, the team visited Community Radio Centre, Kanchenzonga 91.2 Mz+2 at Upper Martam. Zilla Adhakshya at the interactive session at the Recording facility lauded DC Gyalshing for rendering tireless support and deliberated on Kothey Bari perspective. He even through Radio Kanchenjunga motivated Good Practice initiatives. DC Gyalshing also recorded a session for general public dissemination and made aware on the main motive behind the initiative through Inter Territorial exchange programme and shared valuable experiences gained through it.
At the offset, DC in her brief address at the premises of Radio Kanchenjunga informed on Kishan Mela and extensively deliberated on Diary Farming. She even expressed her positive belief in the potential of Composting Hut at Bermiok.
Earlier, a brief halt at Mr Naresh Kumar Rai-owned Rafong Martam Eco Yard at Rafong was also done by the visiting team.
It may be informed here,prior, the visiting team had already covered Yuksam Territorial Constituency on 18th March in compliance with the decision made by DPC. It is reiterated that all 18 Zilla members would host the remaining 17 Zilla members at their respective TCs on a day-long exposure visit on a rotation basis, with the objective to allow panchayats to accumulate an insight into Best Practices in the TC being visited, in terms of farming, educational institutes, historic and heritage sites, best performing GPKs, implementation of mission mode programmes of the government and relevant.
