An awareness cum training programme on Micro Irrigation (MI) and Other Intervention (OI) components under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sichayee Yojana(PMKSY) Per Drop More Crop (PDMC) was organized by Agriculture Department at Nandok BAC on 31/03/2023.
The programme was chaired by Hon’ble Minister of Human Resource Development and Parliamentary Affairs and Land Revenue and Disaster Management, Government of Sikkim,Shree Kunga Nima Lepcha.
The Hon’ble Minister expressed positive views regarding the PMKSY scheme and briefed that Agriculture Department has been bringing up various schemes for the benefit of farmers which is commendable and urged farmers to take advantage of schemes for betterment of livelihoods.
Joint Director Agriculture, Mrs Rachna Gurung,highlighted the objectives of PMKSY and other schemes of Agriculture Department such as Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana(PMFBY), Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana( PM KISAN) and Mukhia Mantri Krishi Atma Nirbhar Yojana(MMKAY). She urged all the farmers to enroll themselves to PMFBY and to avail the facilities under MMKAY.
BDO Nandok Tashi Wangyal Bhutia also expressed his views regarding the PMKSY scheme.He requested the farmers to take up the scheme seriously as it will enhance the production of Agriculture and Horticulture crops.
Panchayat President Nandok Saramasa Gpu Dinesh Chettri urged the farmers to take the advantage of the scheme and expressed his gratitude to Agriculture Department for implementing such wonderful scheme at Nandok Block.
Further 1000 ltrs tank was distributed to sixty benefieries of Nandok PMKSY Cluster by the Hon’ble Minister.
The programme was conducted by Bindu Dhamala ADO Nandok and welcome speech was given by Kiden Doma Bhutia ( A.I).
The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Shyamu Subba (VlW) Nandok Saramsa GPU.
