Namchi, 31st March: A meeting regarding the issues of Jal Jeevan Mission was held at Shyampani ward followed by lower Sorok and Upper Sorok ward respectively.
The meeting was attended by Honble Zilla Panchayat, Honble Gram Panchayats, BDO Namchi, AE and JE of Namchi BAC. The tender was called for the three wards by the Honble Panchayats at Sorok Shyampani GPU . But as per the request made to the BDO by the public of three wards the tender was put on hold.
The meeting was called on by the BDO Namchi to resolve the issues. He had assured that all the issues brought up by the public relating with the project will be addressed technically by the engineers.
After hours of deliberation and discussion with the public the BDO and his team could finally convince the entire public and decided to go for tender to start the work.
The public wished that a contractor would be chosen from the same ward who would work socially to overcome the problem faced by the public due to shortage of water at their area.
It was also assured to the public that an alternate pumping project for the shortage of water has also been sent to the Department.
Due to the limited water in three sources , Utissey, Ghattey and Chautaray, the BDO urged everyone to come up to safeguard the water sources which are at the drying stage and requested them on planting the saplings which would help in reviving the source again.
