Jalpaiguri, January 29(IPR): in collaboration with Bokar Monastery which is to be held from 29th January to 4th February at Damdim in Jalpaiguri District, West Bengal.
The inaugural session of the week-long Kagyu Monlam was chaired by the Minister of Ecclesiastical Department, Shri Sonam Lama at the Bokar Sheda Obar Chimeyling, an institution for higher Buddhist studies.
The grand prayer session is organised to promote universal peace and harmony. The prayer will have the presence of His Eminence the 12th Goshri Gyaltsab Rinpoche along with prominent Kagyu masters and monks from across Kalimpong, Darjeeling, and Sikkim.
The session will also feature an in-depth session on the lineage of the crown of practice, His Holiness the 17th Karpama, and special Kagyu Monlam.
Minister of Ecclesiastical Department, Shri Sonam Lama, in his address, extended his gratitude to the Sangha community for organising a week-long prayer session. He shared his sincere prayers for Universal peace and harmony.
The prayer session shall conclude on 5th February, with the offering of Marme Monlam.
