SMCs,School heads from vicinity schools, officials and the alumni.
The Minister in his address presented a brief review of the Chief Minister’s Merit Scholarship Scheme (CMMSS )and informed that it is a unique educational scheme that was initiated to cater to the needs of Sikkimese students studying in Government schools.
Likewise,minister congratulated the school family in making the event a successful one.Pelling Senior Secondary School would be made a model school with the best infrastructural facilities and qualified faculties in the near future the minister informed.
He also stated that he was happy to see that land donors,alumnis and students being felicitated during the event.
Later,minister expressed grief over the untimely demisation of Dillu Ram Chettri former Librarian of Pelling Senior Secondary School and described him as a “value based” staff, who made significant contribution to the School during his stay here.
CEO Education Department in his address explained in detail the scholarship schemes bestowed by state and central governments and urged the students to avail for it through online mode.
He mentioned that the state government has accorded topmost priority to the Education Sector with the commensurable allocation of budget to ensure that the children are well educated to face the new emerging challenges of the modern world.
Later the school also felicitated the senior citizens and social workers for rendering untiring service towards the school.
Principal, Y.N. Rana presented the Annual Report of the school which highlighted various activities initiated by the school and achievements made throughout the year.
