Animal Husbandry and Sikkim Milk Union organized stakeholders meeting with an objective to provide Kishan Credit Card-AH (KCC-AH) to the dairy farmers of Sikkim at the conference hall of Animal Husbandry Dept, Karfectar, Jorethang 23 Nov 2022. The meeting was chaired by Dr. P. Senthil Kumar, Secretary Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services Dept-cum Managing Director, Sikkim Milk Union and was attended by representatives from Banks and SISCO Bank Nodal Officer, Veterinary Officer and Procurement Officials, Filed Supervisors and Secretaries of Village Milk Producer’s Co-operative Societies of Namchi, Soreng and Gyalshing Districts.
The resources person from Banks explained the participants about the advantages of KCC, fund limits and purpose for which it can be used and suggested to link the existing Bank account of the dairy farmers where milk payment is received with the KCC, so that account become regular and thus easily eligible to get interest subvention benefits. The SISCO Bank Officials explained about the KCC application form and the supporting documents required, eligibility for getting the KCC-AH and clarified the participants on the doubts in filling the form and utilization of KCC funds. Secretary, Animal Husbandry Senthil Kumar motivated the participants to ensure 100% coverage of KCC-AH to all dairy farmers of the state and set time line to achieve the same and also explained about the advantages tripartite agreement on this by SBI with Sikkim Milk and Animal Husbandry Dept, the technical aspects of the KCC, interest rates, repayment process and it renewal., etc., and clarified the doubts of the participants. He also informed the filed officers and staff to coordinate with Village Milk Producer’s Co-operative Societies, Banks and Animal Husbandry dept to ensure smooth application process in obtaining the KCC-AH card to dairy farmers and other Animal Husbandry farmers of the state. He informed that the filled in application forms shall be collected for verification by the concerned bank official on the day of milk incentive distribution program and once verified and accepted the bank will issue KCC AH within a week time. The meeting ended with vote of thanks by the Veterinary Officer of Sikkim Milk Union.
