The 15 days Training Programme on Decorative Candle Making concluded today

Gangtok 19th April 2022 (IPR): The 15 days Training Programme on Decorative Candle Making concluded today at AH & VS Extension and Training Hall, Sokeythang.
The valedictory programme was graced by Shri Y. T Lepcha, MLA 27- Gangtok Constituency as the Chief Guest along with Guest of Honour Shri Mangal Jit Rai, Chairperson, National Cooperative Dairy Federation of India.
During the programme a total number of thirty-four trainees were presented with Certificates by the Chief Guest and the dignitaries present.
The 15 days Decorative Candle Making Training which started from 4th April 2022 till 18th April 2022 was sponsored by NUMALIGARH REFINERY LIMITED ( A Government of India Enterprise).
Shri Y. T Lepcha in his address congratulated all the trainees for completing their Decorative Candles Making Training.Shri Y. T Lepcha said that the training programme is to promote and support untapped creativity facilitating and guiding the development of ideas into viable business propositions which will benefit society. He stated that the objective of the training is to encourage creative ideas to push young entrepreneurs into business strategies where MSME under the Centre and the State Government will provide support with financial subsidy assistance. He also said that various training programmes enable people to be self-reliable and help them to fulfil the dream and vision of Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan.
Shri Mangal Jit Rai expressed his gratitude to be present at the event and congratulated all the trainees for their successful completion of the training session.
He said that candle making involves the integration of imagination with colours to bring out beautiful designs on products made with wax. He stated that training is just the beginning, the real work starts after being trained and it depends on one’s ability to take forward and present their ideas successfully. He further added that people light candles not only for religious purposes but also use them as decor items such as scented and decorative candles for which there is already an increasing demand in the market.
Lastly, he wished success to all the trainees in their future endeavours.
Shri Sudip Pradhan, Director Numaligarh Refinery Ltd. in his short note said that there are unlimited possibilities in the wax making business. He stated that wax creativity is the most affordable and convenient way to start a business since the raw materials are easily available in the market. He said that there is a good demand for wax products and one can start the wax making business with a few products, in the beginning, to later add more as one gains experience and expertise. He further stated that MSME loans are offered by the government for micro and small scale businesses and this benefit can be availed through MSME registration online.
Earlier, Shri H. K Sharma,Commissioner cum Secretary, Commerce & Industries Department thanked Shri Sudip Pradhan, Director Numaligarh Refinery Ltd for sponsoring the fifteen Day’s Decorative Candle Making in Sikkim along with Master trainer Smt Vani Devi who tirelessly took up the challenge to train all the participants who have now successfully completed their training under her guidance.
During the programme the trainees shared their experiences about their long fifteen days training session and presented the candles made by them to the guests present.
The valedictory function was organised by National Small Industries Corporation Ltd, Guwahati in association with MSME Division, Commerce Department, Government of Sikkim.
The programme had the presence of Shri H.K. Sharma Commissioner cum Secretary, Commerce & Industries Department, Shri M. Ravikumar, IFS Director, MSME, Commerce & Industries Department, Shri Sudip Pradhan, Director Numaligarh Refinery Ltd, Shri Sanjiv Deka, Deputy Manager, National Small Industries Corp. Ltd, Guwahati, officials from NSIC and NRL, trainees, officials and staff of Commerce & Industries Department
