Hon’ble Minister Shri Samdup Lepcha inaugurates PSA Oxygen Plant

Mangan, September 16 (IPR): Hon’ble Minister, Roads and Bridges Department cum Area MLA Shri Samdup Lepcha inaugurated the 1000 Litres Per Minute, PSA Oxygen Plant under the PM Cares Fund at District Hospital, Mangan today.

Addressing the programme, the Hon’ble Minister extended his gratitude to the Hon’ble Chief Minister with whose goodwill and effort this Oxygen plant was established at Mangan to cater to the public of North District.

Shri Lepcha lauded the effort of the team involved in the process of installation of the new oxygen plant.

The Hon’ble Minister also acknowledged the relentless effort of the Covid warriors headed by DC, North for smooth functioning and handling the pandemic with minimum cases and less casualties.

He said that the Government has given topmost priority to the health sector and efforts are on to make the health care system in Sikkim the best in the country.

Further, the Hon’ble Minister appealed to the contractor of the New District Hospital, Mangan to execute the work for early completion.

Chairman Sikkim Welfare Commission, Shri. Nim Tshering Lepcha said that the oxygen plant in the district hospital is yet another milestone achieved by the state in terms of strengthening its health infrastructure.

Speaking on the occasion, DC(North) Shri. Tenzing T Kaleon informed that the oxygen plant in North Sikkim was set up in one month. He acknowledged the effort of the team involved in the process of installation of the new oxygen plant.

Earlier, District Medical Superintendent (North) Smt Rinzing Doma Bhutia in her welcome address highlighted the technical aspects of Oxygen plant and gave a brief data on Covid cases in the district. She informed that 32,009 (1st dose) and 15,590 (2nd dose) of Covid-19 vaccine have been administered to the people of North District till date.

The inaugural programme also had the presence of Additional Political Secretary to HCM (North) Shri. Tshering Wangyal Bhutia, SP(North), Smt Ongmu Bhutia and officials.
