Mangan, September 01 (IPR): Hon’ble Minister, Roads & Bridges Department Shri Samdup Lepcha inaugurated a pet bottle shredder machine at Nagar Palika Office, Mangan today.
The inaugural programme was attended by DC North, Shri T.T.Kaleon, Chairman,Welfare Commission, Shri. Nim Tshering Lepcha, Additional Political Secretary to HCM, Shri. Tshering Wangyal Bhutia, MEO, Shri Tempo Tashi Bhutia, officials and Councilors.
The chief guest in his brief address extended his gratitude to Mangan Nagar Palika for having installed the first pet bottle shredder machine in the state and efforts to find a solution to the plastic waste management problem in the town and surrounding.
Highlighting on the different schemes of the Government, Shri. Lepcha informed that needy beneficiaries from the Urban areas shall also be provided with housing facilities under the new scheme Urban Awas Yojana. Further, he expressed that proper Sewage System for Mangan, identified Garbage dumping yard for North district and encroachment of the road reserved by individual’s households are few challenges that departments, public and representation unitedly have to come up with long term solutions. Talking to the councillors, the Minister urged them to work with utmost dedication for the welfare of the people and assured all possible help at times of need from his side. Further, He emphasized planning and investing in income generating and sustainable schemes.
