Namchi, 9th July(IPR): A meeting to discuss Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) for left out areas of Yangang and Temi Namphing Constituency was held at DAC, Namchi today. DC (South) Mr. M. Bharani Kumar chaired the meeting, present amongst others were, ADC (Dev, Namchi) Dr. Chandra Prakash Rai, ADC (Dev, Ravangla) Mr. Sunil Mothey alongside other officials.
The meeting deliberated regarding the various proposals under Yangang BAC and Temi BAC. Some of them are Augumentation, Renovation and Retrofitting of RWSS of mega projects connecting from various Gram Panchayat Units.
It maybe mentioned that two projects namely that of Rural Water Supply Scheme at Yangang and its adjoining villages in South Sikkim and RWSS at Namphing and its surrounding area under Temi Namphing Constituency
which were sanctioned under National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP) has been proposed to be covered through JJM.
During the meeting the officials discussed the areas that needs works on laying pipelines and other important aspects in providing drinking water. They also emphasized that the stakeholders should ensure that the
projects under JJM should be completed in a time bound manner and to provide long-term sustainability of water supply system. It was also decided that functional tap connection will be provided to schools, health and wellness centers and other community buildings as prescribed in the mission.
