Gyalshing, July 7 (IPR): The District Administration Centre, West, carried out a plantation and cleanliness drive at DAC premises today to mark “A Day for Mother Earth’ programme of the Government.
The program was carried out in the presence of Shri. Agawane Rohan Ramesh, ADC, West alongwith Shri S.K. Alley, SDM, Gyalshing, Head of the Departments of West District, officials and staff of DAC, West.
ADC Shri Ramesh in his brief address highlighted the importance of the program which is being conducted in all parts of the State and also spoke about the importance of such a massive exercise towards nature and cleanliness which is required during this pandemic.
The saplings of Rhododendron and Cherry were planted along the roadside entering to the DAC premises and the garbage collected were also disposed safely.
Likewise, Gyalshing Nagar Panchayat in collaboration with HDFC Bank Gyalshing and local NGOs also planted 200 tree saplings today at Baydong Goucharan forest and Lower Kyongsa. The plantation was carried out to observe ‘A day for Mother Earth 2021’.
