Gangtok, June 30: The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim Shri Prem Singh Tamang chaired two individual meetings with the Urban Development Department and the Power Department in the presence of Hon’ble Ministers, Secretaries, Chief Engineers and other officials at Samman Bhawan, today.
In the first meeting, the officials of UDD presented a detailed report and gave a comprehensive presentation of the current projects, finances, manpower management and upcoming projects and schemes. The Hon’ble Chief Minister also inquired about the progress of work in the Gangtok and Namchi Smart City project and was briefed about it by the concerned officials.
They also expressed several grievances and issues regarding office space, licensing and other internal matters of the department which needs to be addressed. The Hon’ble Chief Minister also put forth his suggestions and directed the officials to take necessary steps for smooth completion of works, besides his concerns towards cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation of the cities, towns across the state.
Similarly, in the second meeting with the Power Department, the concerned officials presented a brief overview of financial expenses, revenue and progress of the work under their respective charge. They provided a detailed presentation about the projects and schemes, including the Deendayal Upadhya Gram Jyoti Scheme(DDUGJY) and SAUBHAGYA scheme and also updated the Hon’ble Chief Minister about the current work under the department like pre-paid meters, power share allocation etc. They also put forth their grievances and requirement
The Hon’ble Chief Minister shared his suggestions towards imparting more facilities to the general public and urged the department to expedite the renewal, repair and replacement of transformers, besides many other concerns.
