A coordination meeting was held at District Administrative Block Mangan


Mangan, May 22 (IPR): A coordination meeting was held at the conference hall of the District Administrative Block Mangan today, regarding the rise of COVID 19 cases in the north district.
The meeting was chaired by DC (North) Shri. Tenzing .T. Kaleon and the meeting was attended by Additional Political Secretary to HCM (North) Shri. Tshering Wangyal Bhutia, SP (North) Smt. Ongmu Bhutia, ADM (North) Shri. Sonam Lepcha, CMO (North) Shri. Tempo .T. Kaleon, all SDMs and BDOs from North District and HODs and Officers from all departments of North District.
The DC(North) addressed the gathering by reviewing the current scenario in the North District and the rise of Covid 19 positive cases. He stated that all district resources and manpower must be utilized aggressively in order to combat the pandemic, especially regarding transportation for those who test positive and medical attention for the patients as well as primary contacts. He asked the district administration and the health sector to form a holistic system in order to manage the spread of the disease so that everyone is responsible for the assigned tasks and can deliver the required results. He informed that the Vaccination drive has been conducted in District Hospital Mangan and 5 PHCs till date. He also stated that if the positive cases rise, arrangement for more venues for the testing and vaccination drive will be identified.
He instructed that departments that have more than one vehicle, to provide the remaining and off-duty vehicles along with the driver, for Covid duty, if required. He also requested for more manpower for the registration process for vaccination, if needed. Analysing the situation so far, he also stated that at east 5 employees from each department should be available for Covid duty. ADC (Dev) has been given the charge and responsibility to coordinate with the NGOs from North District for manpower, if required.
The DC (North) requested all the HODs to work towards spreading awareness and to contain rumours or false information that could cause chaos among the public. He informed that the Covid Care Centre in Chungthang has been equipped with 10 beds, Zilla Bhawan Mangan with 25 beds and Dzongu with 16 beds for Covid patients.
Additional Political Secretary to HCM (North) thanked all the BDOs of North District for their continuous effort to prevent the disease. He suggested that Oximeters coule be made available to ASHA workers, so that during emergency they could be able to maintain records of the patients.
SP(North) urged everyone to work sensibly and also sensitively in handling the covid 19 crisis.
