Gangtok, 29 Aug (IPR): A District Level Civil Military Liaison Conference was held on 29 August at Penangala between Black Cat Division based in Gangtok and district official of East Sikkim represented by District Collector and Magistrate of East Sikkim, Gangtok, Mr. Kapil Meena.
During the State level Civil Military Liaison Conference (CMLC) held on 04 April 2018, decision was taken by Sikkim State Government and Army in Gangtok to have District Level CMLC for better coordination and synergy between District Administration and Army at district level. During the conference, issues relating to infrastructure development and soldiers welfare ware delved upon.
The conference was co-chaired by Brigadier Ajay Misra, Commander Black Cat Gunners and Mr. Kapil Meena, District Collector and Magistrate, Gangtok.
Brigadier Ajay Misra, in his opening remarks, thanked the civil administration and Government of Sikkim on behalf of Major General NS Raja Subramani, SM, VSM for its support to the armed forces. Conference covered aspects of identification of defence land, afforestation drive, aid to civil authorities, welfare of soldiers etc.
The discussion was useful for resolving various issues and enhancing synergy between the Army and district administration.
