Gangtok, April 09 (IPR): The Chief Secretary of Sikkim Shri. S.C. Gupta chaired a meeting today to discuss the Teeka Utsav- Vaccination Festival to be held in Sikkim from April 11, 2021 to April 14, 2021.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary informed that on the 8th of April, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri. Narendra Modi had interacted with the Chief Ministers of various states regarding the COVID-19 situation via video conference where the Hon’ble Prime Minister has mentioned that to fight against COVID-19 effort/focus should be to vaccinate a maximum number of people. Keeping this in mind, the Hon’ble Prime Minister has announced to organise Teeka Utsav- Vaccination Festival, he added.
In this context, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim Mr. Prem Singh Tamang will be chairing a high-level meeting on 10th April with all the Departmental Heads to prepare a road map for the Vaccination drive, he further informed.
He said that in Sikkim, the Vaccination drive is being carried out in a systematic and efficient manner in every hospital, PHSCs of all the districts for the people above 45 years and above. He said that for the convenience of the people and adhering to the safety protocol of COVID-19, the venue for the Teeka Ustav would be the Indoor Gymnasium Hall of Paljor Stadium. He directed the concerned officials to make proper arrangements for the Ustav so that the vaccination drive is carried out effectively.
The vaccination drive will also be carried out in Ranipool Urban PHC from Monday i.e April 11, 2021.
It may be mentioned here that the Corona Curfew will continue in the State from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am till further orders.
