Today on 11th March 2021, the formal inauguration of Headquarter of Sashastra Seema Bal 72 Battalion was done by Sh. B.K. Pal, Dy. Inspector General SSB Gangtok at 11th Mile Melli Aching, Yuksum, Sikkim (West).
Presently 72 Bn SSB is functioning its Head Quarter at 8th mile Geyzing. The Battalion Headquarter will be shifted to its actual location i.e. 11th Mile Melli Aching, Yuksum within the month.
The function was attended by Sh. D.C. Yadav, Commandant 36th Bn SSB, Sh. S.K. Awadhiya Officiating Commandant 72 Bn SSB, Sh. Padam Bahadur Chettri Panchayat President Khechuperi GPU, Sh. Lobzang Bhutia, Panchayat President Melli Aching GPU, Smt. Winifred Rai, Principal Government Senior Secondary School Darap and SSB Officers and Jawans with their family members.
Sh. B.K. Pal, DIG SHQ Gangtok paid a visit to newly constructed infrastructures and took stock of the ongoing works and expressed his satisfaction with the shifting of the Battalion Headquarter. The inaugural function was followed by ritual gestures at the unit temple. The program also witnessed scintillating and beautiful cultural dances by local children and SSB Jawan.
A badakhana (lunch) was also arranged for all the Guests and Jwanas including their families.
