Namchi, 8th March (IPR): On the last and the final day of filing nominations a total of fifteen candidates filed their nominations for Municipal Elections, 2021 at the office of the Municipal Returning Officer (South), today.
The nominations filed today under Namchi Municipal Council are as follows:
· Mrs. Saraswati Sharma, Ms. Khusboo Kumari Burma, Mrs. Babita Gupta have filed their nominations from 01 Gangyap Ward. The said ward is reserved for UR (Woman) candidate
· Mr. Kamal Kumar Chettri, Mrs. Sobha Pradhan have filed their nominations from the 02 Dambudara ward. The said ward is reserved for OBC (State List) candidate
· Mr. Pema Norbu Bhutia, Mr. Phurba Tshering Bhutia have filed their nominations from 03 Upper Ghurpisey Ward. The said ward is reserved for ST candidate
· Ms. Devika Tamang has filed her nomination from the 05 Upper Boomtar ward. The said ward is reserved for ST (Women) candidate
· Mr. Ganesh Rai has filed his nomination from 06 Upper Singhithang Ward. The said ward is reserved for OBC (Central List) candidate
The nominations filed today under Nayabazar Jorethang Nagar Panchayat are as follows:
· Mr. Ganesh Adhikari has filed his nomination from the 01 Shantinagar ward. The said ward is reserved for UR candidate
· Mr. Pabitra Kumar Sharma and Ms. Ranu Chettri have filed their nomination from the 03 Daragaon wards. The said ward is reserved for OBC (State List) candidate
·Mrs. Tara Subba has filed her nomination from the 04 Majigaon wards. The said ward is reserved for ST candidate
· Ms. Babita Sunwar, Ms Saroja Khati have filed their nomination from 05 Naya bazaar ward. The said ward is reserved for SC (Women) candidate
The submitted nomination papers for the ensuing Municipal Elections, 2021 will be taken up for scrutiny at the office of Municipal Returning Officer (South) on 9th March at 11 a.m. The last date of withdrawal of candidature is on 11th March till 3 p.m.
The final lists of candidates under Namchi Municipal Council are as follows:
01- Gangyap 6 candidates, 02- Dambudara 5 candidates, 03 -Upper Ghurpisey 4 candidates, 04- Lower Ghurpisey 1 candidate, 05- Upper Boomtar 3 candidates, 06 -Upper Singhithang 2 candidates, 07- Purano Namchi 1 candidate.
Similarly, the final list of candidates under Nayabazar Jorethang Nagar Panchayat is as follows:
01- Shantinagar 2 candidates, 02- Trikaleshwar 2 candidates, 03- Daragaon 4 candidates, 04- Majigaon 4 candidates, 05- Nayabazar 3 candidates.
The Municipal Election Observer appointed by State Election Commission Mr. C.K Chettri who shall be overseeing the election process for Namchi Municipal Council and Naya-Bazar Jorethang Nagar Panchayat was also present during the last day of nominations.
