Cleanliness Drive at Ringhim Nampatam GPU

Mangan, 6th March: The Village Level Children’s Parliament of Ringhim Nampatam GPU conducted a cleanliness drive in the Children Park vicinity, Mangan, today. The objective of the drive to empower children, making them feel responsible and inculcating a sense of duty towards the community and the state.
The Prime Minister of the Parliament, Ms.Lavomit Lepcha stated that the Children’s Parliament would work in coordination with the authorities and maintain cleanliness in the park as well as work towards its beautification.
Child Parliaments are being set up in all the GPUs of the North district by the District Child Protection Unit, North in coordination with Village level Child Protection Committees of the GPUs of the district, to empower the children by giving them a platform to raise their voice against any form of child abuse/ violation of their rights and to exercise their “Right to participation” as enunciated in the UNCRC and also be responsible citizens by fulfilling their duties towards the community and the state.
The Child Parliamentarians pledged to fulfil more such duties towards the community and requested the public to protect and conserve public property as it is one of our fundamental duties.
