Gyalshing, January 16(IPR): The ten days Skill Based Training on Agriculture Tools Making and Repair held at Bermiok Community Centre, Hee Bermiok, West Sikkim, concluded with a special valedictory session, today.
The valedictory programme was graced by the Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture, Horticulture and Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services Shri Lok Nath Sharma as the Chief Guest. A total of forty-one trainees attended the skill based training programme.
Minister Sharma, addressing the participants, underlined the objectives of the state government to make farmers more skilled and technically efficient. The state government has been working tirelessly to strengthen the economy of the rural population. He stressed on the need to realise the significance of the agricultural profession and stated the sector as an only medium to survive human society.
Throwing lights on the importance of training programme, he encouraged participants to come forward to establish agricultural tools repairing centre and assured to extend all possible support from the government’s end. Minister also handed over certificates to the participants.
Assistant Director, State Institute of Research & Development, Karfectar, Jorethang, Shri Bhim Nepal, also addressed the session and anticipated utilisation of agriculture tools making skills by the participants in agricultural activities.
