The Dry Run for COVID-19 vaccination at South district

Namchi, 8th January: A Dry Run for COVID-19 vaccination was carried out today at District Hospital Namchi. The dry run had the presence of (DRCHO) Dr. Junita Yonzon, (DSO) Dr. Urgen Sherpa, (DMS)Dr. S N Adhikari and other health officials and staff of District Hospital Namchi.
The primary objective of the dry run is to identify challenges and bridge gaps between planning and implementation of the programme. The vaccination team consisted of 5 members and specific roles and responsibilities were assigned to each member. The vaccination site set up consisted of Hand Sanitization and ID verification area at the entry point followed by the waiting room wherein information on the vaccine was imparted to the beneficiaries. The beneficiaries were then vaccinated in the vaccination room after validation and data updation in Cowin application. Post-vaccination the beneficiaries were then kept in the observation room for 30 mins to identify and address any adverse events following Immunization. A total of 25 beneficiaries were successfully vaccinated during the dry run. The dry run was monitored by a representative from the World Health Organization.
A day prior to the dry run the vaccination site was thoroughly inspected by (District Magistrate South) Mr. M. Bharani Kumar and appropriate feedback was given.
The dry run was also simultaneously carried out at PHCs and CHC under South District.
