
Namchi, 21st December(IPR): The Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri. P.S. Tamang attended the Mamley Kamrang Christmas Festive Meet at the playground of Kamrang Government Secondary School, today. Organized by 10 Poklok Kamrang Christmas Fest Committee had the presence of Forest Minister Shri. Karma Loday, Information and Public Relations Minister Shri. L.N. Sharma, dignitaries and public at large.
Addressing, the gathering Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri. Prem Singh Tamang extended his best wishes on the occasion of the upcoming Christmas festival. He added that since he is also the Area MLA of Poklok Kamrang constituency, various developmental works of the area is being looked into. He also appreciated the efforts put in by the organising committee to organise this program and added that such kind of celebration presents a message that after COVID-19 Sikkim will stand strong with renewed vigour, enthusiasm and new possibilities. As the month of December is filled with festivity belonging to different communities particularly in Sikkim, the commemoration of these celebration defines Sikkim and it’s people as liberal in their minds, thoughts and outlook.
He also informed that due to COVID-19 pandemic most of the work was undertaken in a digital format and said that now the State Government is slowly coming back to its original pace hence, departmental and other works relating to public welfare will be fast tracked at the earliest. He further urged the public to maintain the rules of the State Government to combat the virus.
Speaking, regarding Poklok Kamrang constituency, the Hon’ble Chief Minister briefed that the constituency will soon be transformed into a model constituency which will upgrade the lives of the masses as well. Moreover, he added that the State Government will look into the request of setting up of Community Hall at Lower Mamley Ward, and grand will also be provided to Sikkim Kamrang Football Club. The enhancement of the playground at Kamrang Secondary School will be looked into and feasibility of putting Turf in the playground will also be deliberated, he added. The building of four more additional rooms in the secondary school, necessary repairs and completion of under construction mid-day meal structured will also commence at the earliest under the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s guidance after consultation with the Education Department.
The organizing committee felicitated the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri. P.S. Golay for his contribution to the upliftment of the state. During the course of the festival pastors of various church and teachers were also honoured.
The finals of the football match were also played between Denchung and Mamley Kamrang wherein the latter emerged victorious with a penalty score of 4 and 5 goals. Man of the match was given to Raju Manger from Mamley Kamrang team.
