Gangtok, 4th December (IPR): The State Advisory Committee Meeting on Pre- Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Technique (PC&PNDT) 1994 was held at the Conference Hall, Health Secretariat today.
DG cum Secretary Dr. Pempa Tshering Bhutia presided over the meeting along with Director RCH Dr. Phumzay Denzongpa, ADHS/RCH Dr. Anita Bhutia, Dr. K.N Sharma, Radiologist,New STNM, Dr. Jigmee Tenzing Shartsho, Paediatrician, Ms. Neera Thapa, Law Officer, Health Department and Shri. Ugyen Bhutia, Nodal Officer cum D/D IPR were present.
The main objective of the meeting was to discuss the following:
1. Visit of USG user from outside State.
2. Manpower for filling up of F. Form at STNM Hospital
3. Issue of sifting the Echocardiography machine from New STNM Hospital to District Hospital Singtam
4. IUI Registration CRH and Nobilestride.
Dr. Anita Bhutia briefed up about the agenda. She highlighted that in Sikkim there are seven public facilities which are registered under PC-PNDT two from STNM, one in Mangan, North one in East, Singtam, two at West and one at South District respectively.
Similarly, there are 16 private facilities registered under PC-PNDT out of which eleven are in and around Gangtok, one in Singtam and four at South District. Likewise Veterinary has also registered under PC-PNDT two at Jorethang, two at Namchi.
Polyclinic in tadong (Government) one polyclinic at Namchi (Government) as public facilities and Paksam as private facility clinic in Tadong, East District. As per the PC-PNDT Act 1994 one user can practice in two clinics in one district.

For information: Routine Immunization which had been temporarily suspended due to COVID 19 will resume from Monday 7th December 2020 at New STNM, MCH Clinic as informed by Director cum State Immunization Officer Dr. Phumzay Denzongpa.
