Namchi, 1st December (IPR): Fit India Movement was launched at Singhithang ground in Namchi today. Organized by the Sports and Youth Affairs Department had the presence of Deputy Director (South) Smt. Tshering Ongmu, Coaches, students and staff from the concerned department.
It may be mentioned the Fit India Movement will be observed in all the blocks of the South District.
Addressing, the gathering Deputy Director Smt. Tshering Ongmu briefed the participants regarding the Fit India Movement which is a nation-wide campaign to encourage people to remain healthy and fit by including physical activities and sports in their daily lives. She added, that this year the second edition of this movement will start from today onwards and will be concluded on 31st December. Some of the activities that will be carried out under this movement are the Fit India quiz, Fit India cyclothon, Fit India prabhatpheri and many more. Moreover, she also highlighted that since the threat of COVID-19 is still looming large, she asked for the contestants along with other stakeholders to observe the safety protocol laid by the State Government to protect themselves from the virus.
