Gangtok, November 10(IPR): The Chief Secretary Shri S.C. Gupta and DGP Shri A. Shankar Rao paid tribute to the former Chief Minister of Sikkim Late Shri Sanchaman Limboo by laying a wreath and offering prayers at Development Area, Gangtok today. The senior officials of the State Government also paid tribute and offered prayers.
Late Shri Sanchaman Limboo passed away after a prolonged illness at the age of 73 at Gangtok on 9th November.
His body has been taken to his native village in Hee Gaon, West Sikkim, today and the funeral would take place on 10th November.
Late Shri Limboo was a respected leader of the Sikkimese people who served the State in various capacities.
As a mark of respect to late Shri Sanchaman Limboo, seven days of State mourning shall be observed from 9th November to 15th November 2020. The National Flag shall be flown at half mast on all buildings where it is flown regularly. Further, the State Government Offices, Educational Institutions and Public Undertakings shall remain closed throughout the State of Sikkim on the day of the funeral ie on 10th November 2020. The last rites of late Shri Sanchaman Limboo will be observed with full State honors.
