Gangtok, 24th October 2020 (IPR): In a Press Conference called by the General Manager-cum-PCE, Shri. Karma Namgyal Bhutia it was informed that the Transport Department, Govt. of Sikkim has stated that during the festival season of Dusherra all SNT buses will run with the 50% capacity and charge the regular bus fare and not charge the 1.8 times bus fare as stipulated earlier vide notification no. 15/STA/MVD/T Dated: 07/10/2020.
The Department Officials mentioned that the rates will be applicable from 24/10/2020 to 1/11/2020 providing the general public with a sign of relief and reduce financial burden keeping the Pandemic situation in mind.
The GM also mentioned that the State Government has proposed such a step for the easement of the public.
Further, all SNT buses will strictly follow the 50% capacity and social distancing norms at all costs. Use of Masks and social distancing would be mandatory to all availing the Transportation services.
