Gangtok, September 28: As a part of ongoing Poshan Maah, a webinar on Digital Poshan Panchayat was held under Poshan Abhiyaan, East District today. The main agenda of this webinar was the identification and management of Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) and Moderate Acute Malnutrition(MAM)children, developing of Nutri garden across all Aganwadi Centres and Schools and at the community level and role of Ayush in strengthening immunity against illness.
The webinar was attended by Councillors, Zilla and Ward Panchayat members from all GPUs under East District along with resource persons from the Health Department, AYUSH and Horticulture Department.
The programme was also participated by Deputy Director cum State Nodal Officer (Poshan Abhiyaan), Social Justice and Welfare Department Shri G.M. Subba, DPO (Poshan/East District) Social Justice and Welfare Department Smt. Yamini Pradhan, CDPO Urban Slum Project, Shri Samdup Bhutia, CDPOs from other blocks and districts, District Co-ordinator/Poshan (East District), Projects Assistants, Supervisors and Aganwadi workers, ASHAs of the State.
MO/IC Rhenock CHC Dr. Raju Singh presented a detail powerpoint presentation on the identification and management of SAM and MAM children in the programme.
MO, AYUSH, Rangpo CHC Dr. Milan Pradhan spoke on the role of AYUSH in strengthening immunity against illness during the pandemic.
During the programme, it was also briefed about the importance of Nutri garden.
The State Nodal Officer (Poshan Abhiyaan) Shri G.M.Subba in his address talked about the role of Panchayats in providing awareness at GPU levels and the importance of identifying SAM/MAM children in their respective areas.
An open discussion was also held where participants shared ideas and information with the resource persons.
The webinar concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by DPO East (Poshan Abhiyan).
