Hon’ble Governor Shri Ganga Prasad attended the Governors’ Video Conference

Gangtok, September 8 (Raj Bhawan): Hon’ble Governor Shri Ganga Prasad attended the Governors’ Video Conference on Role of NEP-2020 in Transforming Higher Education which was graced by the Hon’ble President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi. The conference was also attended by Hon’ble Union Minister for Education, Shri Romesh Pokhriyal, Governors/Lieutenant Governors, Education Ministers of States, Chairman, Committee for Drafting New Education Policy, Vice Chancellors and the officers of the States held on September 7.
The Governor in his address congratulated the Hon’ble Prime Minister for the new National Education Policy. He also sought centre government assistance for infrastructure development in the education sector. He gave his valuable suggestions for effective implementation of new National Education Policy in transforming higher education across the Country. The Governor stated that Sikkim is ready to implement the New Education Policy-2020 and this policy will certainly play a pivotal role in the growth of State and Nation as well in the field of education.
The Additional Chief Secretary, Education Department, Shri G. P. Upadhayaya, Vice-Chancellors of Sikkim Central University and Sikkim Manipal University, Additional Secretary, Raj Bhavan, Shri B. K. Lama and other officials were also present during the conference.
