Gyalshing, August 28: (IPR) The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) visited the landslide-prone area of Sagbari busty near Legship, West Sikkim, today.
The Chief Minister also interacted with the affected families and also informed that he has given necessary directives to the concerned District Collector for their resettlement in a safer location. He also said to constitute a committee for shifting of villagers and taking up onward action. He also listened to their grievances and assured them to provide a government job to a member of each family on ad hoc basis. The Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) was also accompanied by the Hon’ble Minister-cum-Area MLA of Gyalshing Bermiok constituency Shri Lok Nath Sharma and other dignitaries.
It may be mentioned here that the local public had reported that a number of seventeen dwelling houses are under the threat of landslide after the incident of flooded Rangit river triggered on 5th August 2020.
