Jorethang, 6th July (IPR): The Hon’ble Minister, Agriculture, Horticulture and Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services and IPR and Printing Department Shri Lok Nath Sharma visited Karfectar Diary Farm and Sikkim Milk Union Dairy Plant at Karfectar today.
Hon’ble Minister Shri. L.N Sharma inspected the Diary farm premises thoroughly where he was accompanied by Dr. Phurba Lepcha, Deputy Director (Karfectar), Dr. N.K Pradhan, Deputy General Manager (DGM) alongside the field functionaries and staff of the Diary farm.
During the visit, Honb’le Minister Sharma took stock of the functioning of the farm while also inspecting the number of livestock present, fodder plantation, piggery and poultry farming and future scope of the dairy industry in the district. Additionally, he also examined the Bull rearing shed in the premises of the dairy farm wherein he was briefed about the cultivation and distribution of various varieties of fodder for dairy cattle. He also interacted with the staff of the farm and gave a patient hearing to the grievances of the dearth of manpower, necessary equipment and strengthening of infrastructure.
During the later half of the day, Hon’ble Minister visited the regional office of Sikkim Milk Union at Karfectar and met and interacted with the staff and employees there. DGM Dr. N.K Pradhan presented a brief achievement report of the plant before the Hon’ble Minister during the course of the interaction.
