Gangtok, July 3(IPR): As per latest Health Bulletin, DG-cum-Secretary, Health, Dr Pempa T. Bhutia informed that one more case of Covid-19 has been reported in the State on 2nd July. The positive case has been reported from a SSB Camp in Yuksom, West Sikkim, that of a 33 year old male, who had entered the State through Melli Checkpost on 24th June, after undergoing 14 Day quarantine in Siliguri. He was lodged in the SSB Quarantine centre in Yuksom, West Sikkim along with 40 of his colleagues.
His sample was tested on the 1st of July and on 2nd July he was reported to be Covid-19 positive, after which he was immediately shifted to STNM hospital.
It was informed that all the 40 persons who were lodged in the same quarantine centre have tested negative for Covid-19. However, they will be kept in the quarantine centre for seven more days and would undergo a confirmatory test. The quarantine centre has been converted into a containment zone.
With the new case, the cumulative number of COVID -19 cases in the State stands at 102.
A total of 53 have already been recovered and discharged till date. The total number of active cases in the State is now 36.
