Mangan, May 21: (IPR) Hon’ble Minister for Roads & Bridges and Cultural Affairs & Heritage Department, Govt. of Sikkim Shri Samdup Lepcha distributed Laptops to nine Self Help Groups and Village Administrative Assistant (Panchayat Secretary) of Chungthang Block at Panchayat Bhawan, Chungthang, North Sikkim, today under Sikkim Rural Livelihood Mission, Rural Development Department. Minister, Shri Samdup Lepcha was accompanied by SDM, SDPO, BDO and RO of Chungthang Subdivision.
Minister Shri Samdup Lepcha stated that the main objective behind the laptop distribution is to augment the digital working culture through digital tools and to communicate on the internet by the members of the self-help group. He hoped that all self-help groups will make better use of so received laptop by promoting their business online and showcase their talents to the world. Talking on COVID-19 pandemic he complimented the people of the Chungthang for following all guidelines of the government during the lockdown and he has appealed to the people to continue the guidelines and protocol of social distancing.
Kersongrip Self Help Group of Pegong and Lhangrip Self Help Group of Bop North Sikkim have made a financial contribution of Rupees 10,000/- each(ten thousand only) towards Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support government’s fight against COVID-19 pandemic. A cheque was handed over to the Hon’ble Minister for Roads and Bridges Shri Samdup at Chungthang today. Hon’ble Minister has thanked them for their kind gesture and generous contribution towards Chief Minister’s Relief Fund in time of such a pandemic.
It may be added here that the whole distribution programme of the laptop was done with duly maintaining the social distancing.
