Mangan, 25th April 2020: (IPR) Hon’ble Minister for Roads and Bridges-cum- Area MLA (Lachen- Mangan) Shri Samdup Lepcha convened a meeting with the District Task Force of North Sikkim here at the conference hall of District Collector, North Shri. Tenzing T. Kaleon, today.
The sole objective behind holding the meeting was to take the stock of the prepared level to maintain by the District Task Force and deliberate upon better coordination among front line workers in the containment of COVID-19 epidemic.
During the meeting, Minister took brief note of the problems that are being faced by the district task force, facilities which are available in the district, Distribution Relief Package and the suggestion from concerned heads, on top of that he has assured that all the problems which he had noticed during the meeting would be placed before the state government as to address the problems
Some of the main agenda of the meeting are DCSO/North was asked to ensure buffer stock of the essential commodities as monsoon is approaching. Further, those drivers who go to Siliguri for procurement of essential commodities must remain at the ‘TRANSIT CAMP’ established at Mangan and Chungthang, North Sikkim.
Any shopkeeper those found any kind of price hike on essential commodities at the period of lockdown will be dealt with stringent sections of law simultaneously Sr. SP/North. MEO/MNP and other concerned officials were asked to keep vigil against any kind of black marking. Maintaining social distance and the wearing of face masks is mandatory in public places. Everyone including general people have been asked to download “Aarogya Setu Application” in their mobile phones.
Lastly, the Minister thanked each and everyone who is working on the frontline to combat this pandemic COVID-19 and appealed to the general public to supplement their courage and cooperation to overcome through these global crises.
