Namchi, 22nd April (IPR): In the wake of COVID-19 outbreak, South District Administration in co-ordination with Sikkim Organic Pest Control Sales and Services initiated a week-long sanitization drive throughout the district starting from Namchi, today.
This drive commenced from the premises of South District Administrative Centre and covered District and Sessions Court Complex, Fire and Emergency Services Department, Mayal Lang Children’s Home, Manjusha Short Stay and culminated at Juvenile Observation Home.
Throughout the cleaning process, the organic and local ingredients of disinfectants made of citronella essential oil, phenyl, extra herbal medicines and other secret supplements have been extensively used.
In addition, this drive is aimed to provide sanitization in Bazar areas as well as in the workplace and offices of SDM, BDO, Health Centres including District Hospitals, Central and Primary Health Centres, Police Stations and its Out Posts, Food Godowns, Old Age and Children Homes, ration shops and places where public gatherings are most likely to occur.
It may be mentioned here that similar sanitization drive in collaboration with the DAC, Gangtok, East was also conducted by Sikkim Organic Pest Control Sales and Services from 3rd to 21st April. This free of cost drive has been energetically and enthusiastically spearheaded by Managing Director Mr Suraj Gurung under the guidance of Mr Pankaj Sharma (Chief Consultant) and Mr Ganesh Chettri ( Senior Consultant).
