Mangan, 7th April: Hon’ble Minister Shri Samdup Lepcha made a day-long series of a surprise visit to various places to take stock of the situation of North District and its relief materials and essential commodities.
During his day-long visit, Shri Samdup Lepcha stopped at various outposts such as Dikchu, Rangrang and Tong check post to distribute free hand sanitizers and masks to the police personnel posted there. While interacting, the Hon’ble Minister extended his gratefulness for their selfless services during this pandemic of COVID-19.
Thereafter, Hon’ble Minister conducted a meeting with BDOs, Panchayats members, WLC members and other concerned officials to look into the ongoing distribution of essential relief commodities and other materials at Mangan Baazar. He requested them to provide the CMs Relief Materials and other commodities to every beneficiary without any partiality in the constituency. He also informed that food commodities must be delivered to every daily waged labourer and also to provide those people who are deprived of verified documents at the time of lock-down.
After that, he also conducted a surprise visit to BDO offices and to the District Hospital Mangan to take the stock of the medical supplies, capacity and preparedness. He also handed out hand sanitizers and masks to the frontline health workers those who are working at the hospital.
Later, he also conducted an official meeting attended by DC Shri T. Kaleon along with CMO Dr Purna Basnett, DFO Shri Pempa Dadul Lachenpa, BDO-Mangan Shri DB Subba and amongst other officials which were mainly convened to address as well as to assess the preparedness of the district to keep the novel Coronavirus at the bay. The meeting had also discussion on the planning and its preventive necessary steps towards fighting the disease.
