DC WEST takes stock of the preparedness in West Sikkim ahead of District-wide shutdown

Gyalshing, 24th March 2020 (IPR): The District Collector Shri. Karma R. Bonpo visited the Isolation Center at Ayush Hospital, Kyongsa and Quarantine Center at the Girls Hostel, Kyongsa, West Sikkim.
The District Collector made a survey on the available resources and facilities being set up till date at the centres ahead of the district-wide lockdown which begins from 25/03/2020 6 am onwards till the 31/3/2020.
He informed that the Isolation Center and Quarantine Center would be fully stocked in the next few days which would cater to around 50 patients at a time. He also informed that the district is trying its absolute best in keeping the public safe with keeping the medical supplies stocked for any emergencies in the district. He further mentioned that the safety equipment for Medical Personnel has also been acquired and would soon be made available to them.

He further appealed to the public of West Sikkim to avoid any social gathering and travel. Social distancing should be practised along with maintaining good hygiene. He also informed that the public needs to be at their homes and use the time to help the state with their practice of self-quarantine which help them to tackle the problem from spreading out.
