Gangtok 4.03.2020(IPR) : Dr. Mani Kumar Sharma Hon’ble Minister of Health & Family Welfare Department, Social Justice & Welfare Department today flagged off “ Food Safety Wheels (FSW) Van from the premises of State Food Laboratory, Chewatar Singtam.
Divulging the details Hon’ble Minister said that the State received Food Safety Vans from Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) to cater to the food testing requirements in the State, to provide right food, to ensure that there is strict implementation of laws and the compliance of standards to assure that citizens have safe and wholesome food. This could be gauged from the fact that there is now a network of food testing laboratory in the State and the policies will be perceptible and measurable results in every sector.
These mobile food testing van would be utilised for testing training and awareness building activities as well.
The main motive of sample testing by the van is to ensure that people get good quality of hygiene food besides checking its adulteration.
Shri N. R Gurung, Additional Director, (SFL), Dr. Thinley Bhutia, Principal Director, Dr. Tshering Laden Bhutia Chief Medical Officer, District Hospital Singtam, Mr. Neeraj Thapa Designated Officer FSW, Mr Palden Bhutia RTO, Shri Saran Pradhan Nagar Panchayat Predident, Mr. Namgyal Bhutia Sanitation Inspector District Hospital Singtam and the Officials and staffs of Forest Department Singtam, State Food Safety were present.
