Hon’ble Chief Minister attended the Srimad Bhagawat Katha Gyan Yagya Anusthan at Jorethang

Namchi 29th November (IPR) : Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Prem Singh Tamang accompanied by his spouse Smt. Krishna Rai, attended the Srimad Bhagawat Katha Gyan Yagya Anusthan at Jorethang playground, today. At the onset the Chief Minister offered his prayers and attended spiritual discourse and witnessed devotional presentations by the devotees.

Present during the occasion were Minister Transport Department Shri Sanjeet Kharel his spouse Smt. Asha Kharel, Area MLA Salghari Zoom Smt. Sunita Gazmer, Officers of South District administration and the devotees at large.

In his address, the Chief Minister expressed his delight to be a part of the puja and congratulated the people of the locality who have contributed for Srimad Bhagawat Katha Gyan Yagya Anusthan. The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the renowned Bhagwata Acharya Shri. Rohit Raj Maharaj for enlightening large number of devotees on Bhagwat Katha and other motivational sessions on substance abuse which was attended by the students of surrounding schools alongwith large numbers of devotees.

Additionally, the Chief Minister directed the officials and checkpost In-charge to be alert and vigorously stop crimes such as human trafficking, drug peddling and other anti-social elements. He also assured to render every possible support from the State Government in rehabilitation of the drug abuse victims. Our endeavor is to promote tourism for all the districts of Sikkim which will be initiated by opening Ramam Checkpost, for the upgradation of West Sikkim at the first phase and gradually other districts will be followed, the Chief Minister informed.

Furthermore, he also elaborated the State Government’s initiatives on the promotion of religious tourism in Sikkim so that entrepreneurship and employment avenues are created for the Sikkimese youth.
In the way, the government is planning to offer suitable employment and entrepreneurship for the poor and needy people of Sikkim, therefore all should come forward to make Sikkim a model state, he informed.
The Chief Minister also reiterated to make Sikkim a disease free, drugs free and plastic free and in view to achieve the goal, one must introspect and transform the inner self to change the society, he added. The State Government has given priority to games and sports, art and culture, besides all innovative aspects, for the upliftments of young minds in Sikkim.

The Chief Minister thanked the organising committee and individuals involved behind organising the grand spiritual discourse for the benefit of greater good of mankind.
