Gyalshing, 14th February, 2020 (IPR): A meeting in connection with Kisan Credit Card (KCC) and PM-KISAN (Prime Minister Krishi Samman Nedhi) beneficiaries was held in the office of Additional District Collector, West Sikkim, DAC.
The meeting was chaired by the ADC West, Shri Karma L. Lepcha along with Mr. Rupen Kr. Lamichhaney, DDM NABARD, Mr. Sandip Chandra, LDM SBI, Mr. Karma Sherpa, JD Incharge Horticulture and Mr. G.K. Gurung, ADO Agriculture Department, Gyalshing.
ADC West spoke in-brief about the KCC and it’s objective where he appealed to covered all the farmers under PM-KISAN. He also mentioned that each farmers will be provided financial assistance per year in three installments of rupees 2000 as maximum income support. He also praised the schemes which has been conceptualized by the Government of India to facilitate universal access to concessional institutional credit for all PM-KISAN beneficiaries. The farmers can avail the benefits of PM-KISAN under KCC once they submit documents pertinent to land parcha, detail of crop sown and filled up form for the issue of Kisan Credit Card.
It maybe mentioned that a total number of 7118 applications for KCC have been received from West District till date and 3078 applications are re-verified and uploaded.
ADC West added that all farmers should apply for KCC and utilized such schemes which is provided by the Government.
Mr. Karma Sherpa highlighted the guidelines of KCC and selection process of beneficiaries which are as follows;
1. Genuine farmer.
2. Land Documents (parcha).
3. No Government Employees from a house.
4. No pensioners.
5. No politicians (including ex-panchayat).
If farmers apply within the given period of time period i.e. 8th to 23rd Feb. 2020 no processing charges will be applicable.
