Meeting on Kisan Credit Card held at Namchi

Namchi, 10th Feburary (IPR): A meeting in connection with Kisan Credit Card (KCC) and PM-KISAN beneficiaries was held at DAC, office, today. DC (South) Mr. Ragul K. chaired the meeting present amongst others were District Development Manager (Nabard) Mr. Rupen Lamichaney, Lead District Manager Mr. Sudip Chandra and media persons.

DC spoke in-brief about the objective of KCC which he said, has been conceptualized by the Government of India to facilitate universal access to concessional institutional credit for all PM-KISAN beneficiaries. The farmers can avail the benefits of PM-KISAN under KCC once they submit documents pertinent to land parcha, detail of crop sown and filled up form for the issue of Kisan Credit Card.

It maybe mentioned that a total number of 4909 applications for KCC has been received from South District till date and 2084 applications is under scrutiny process.

The DC added that all banks have been advised to organize special camps and provide a separate window for accepting the forms and sanction KCC limit within shortest possible time not exceeding 14 days. Officers of Line Department including Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Panchayat and Rural Development Department (including Panchayat Secretary & Bank Sakhi under NRLM project) will facilitate dissemination of awareness among all PM-KISAN beneficiaries and motivate them to visit the bank branch where they have PM-KISAN account for enrollment under KCC. The KCC benefit has now been extended to Animal Husbandry and Fisheries farmers also. Those farmers who are KCC holders and also do Animal husbandry and Fisheries activities can approach the branch for sanction of additional limit.

Moreover, Mr. Ragul said that all charges including the processing, documentation, inspection and ledger folio charges as well as other service charges for KCC loans upto 3 lakhs have been waived. Bank branches have been advised to prepare list of PM-KISAN beneficiaries who do not have KCC and share the same with Government functionaries of Line Departments so that they can be approached for availing the KCC benefit.
SMSs to all PM-KISAN beneficiaries is being sent from the PM-KISAN portal to visit the concerned bank branch for getting KCC
benefit is being encouraged. All PM-KISAN beneficiaries have been auto approved for KCC and require to simply visit the nearest bank branch with a copy of land documents and details of crop sown along with the filled up one page form for availing the benefit.
