HCM called on the Hon’ble Vice President Shri M Venkaiah Naidu

ew Delhi January 30: (IPR) The Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang called on the Hon’ble Vice President Shri M Venkaiah Naidu at his official residence 6, Maulana Azad Road, New Delhi this morning.

The Hon’ble Chief Minister was accompanied by the Hon’ble Lok Sabha, MP Shri Indra Hang Subba, Secretary to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri S.D Dhakal and Resident Commissioner

During the call on the Hon’ble Chief Minister extended his invitation to the Hon’ble Vice President, Shri Naidu to visit Sikkim during the month of March 2020, which the Hon’ble Vice President gracefully accepted and said that he will be visiting Sikkim from 14th to 15th of March this year.

The Hon’ble Vice President will be inaugurating the newly constructed Thakurbari Temple in Gangtok and will also be attending the 2nd Convocation of SRM University as the Chief Guest, during his visit to Sikkim.

The Vice president was all praise for the effort with which the Hon’ble Chief Minister has taken the state forward with zeal and vigor after forming the Government last year.

He was also vocal about how Sikkim has been exemplary in working towards safeguarding ecological balance and environment protection without compromising on overall development.

The Hon’ble Chief Minister expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards the Hon’ble Vice President and also informed him about the award won by the state of Sikkim recently in the field of tourism.
He also informed how the footfall of tourists in Sikkim, both domestic and international has shot up in the last one year.

Further, the Hon’ble Chief Minister also discussed in detail about various issues of Sikkim with the Hon’ble Vice President.
