Gangtok, Dec 18: (IPR) A five-day Training Programme for Police Investigators on Women’s Safety/Crime Against Women organized by Sikkim Police Training Branch began on the 17th of December, 2019 at the Conference hall of Police Headquarters, Gangtok. The training programme was formally inaugurated by Special DG, Sikkim Police, Shri. Sudhakar Rao.
The objective of the training programme is to build up capacity of Officers at the Police Station Level who are actively investigating cases relating to women’s Safety. The course is intended to provide concise and focused information through simulated exercise and close interaction.
The Resource persons are drawn from experienced Police Officers of the State and West Bengal, Senior Ld. PPs, experts from CFSL/Kolkata, Cyber experts and members of the legal fraternity.
Sikkim Police plans to conduct more such training of officers in the coming months so that crime against women are properly investigated and brought its logical conclusion.
Forty (40) directly recruited Sub-Inspectors, Inspectors from various Police Stations of the State and other senior Officers will be benefiting from this training.
