The cadastral resurvey of the State was officially flagged off by the Hon’ble Minister of Land Revenue & Disaster Management Department, Government of Sikkim, Shri Kunga Nima Lepcha on 25th November 2019 from Yangtam Gompu at 9 a.m. The initial phase will cover Aho, Yangtam and Changey Senti Revenue Blocks under the Changey Senti Revenue Circle under Pakyong Sub-Division of East District of Sikkim. The flag off programme was also attended by the Secretary, LR&DMD, Mrs. Ambika Pradhan (IAS), Programme Director (DILRMP), Shri Prem Singh Rai, Jt. Director (Survey), Shri Phigu Tshering Bhutia, Deputy Secretary, Mrs Chandra Chettri , Deputy Director (IT), Mrs. Tshering Yangchen Bhutia , Revenue Officer (Pakyong Sub-Division) Shri Kushal Gurung , Panchayats, Survey team and public.
The resurvey is one of the main components of the Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme. Under the programme, the Land Revenue & Disaster Management Department has trained officials of the Department on the use of modern survey equipments like Electronic Total Station (ETS) and Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) and has also formed a core survey team.
The main aim of this resurvey project is to ensure accuracy and dispute free land records.
