Gangtok November 15 (IPR): A six member Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) delegation headed by Mr. K. Matsumoto, of Sikkim Shri P. S Tamang at Samman Bhawan this evening.
The delegation presented a brief report on progress made by ongoing forestry projects.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister during the meeting requested them to explore all the possibilities to start some new projects which can be taken up in the State of Sikkim.
The main highlight of the discussion during the meeting was for Urban mass transport, Tourism, Sustainable development in Horticulture and Agricultural sectors beside the environment conservation.
The biodiversity conservation was also discussed in detain during the meeting.
The (JICA) head Mr. Matsumoto during the call on also expressed his satisfaction on the presentation made by the the line departments during the workshop.
