Gangtok, November 14 (IPR): The 8th Sikkim United Cup Football Tournament 2019 was kicked off at Paljor Stadium, today. The inaugural match was played between AGAPE Christian Fellowship and Bethesda Church.
Hon’ble Minister Forest and Environment, Mines and Geology and Science and Technology Departments Shri Karma Loday Bhutia graced the inaugural ceremony as the Chief Guest in special presence of the Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture, Horticulture, AH&VS, IPR, Printing & Stationery Departments Shri Lok Nath Sharma, MLAs including Shri G T Dhungel, Shri Em Prasad Sharma, Political Secretary to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Jacob Khaling, Secretary Horticulture Shri MT Sherpa and other dignitaries.
A total of twenty nine teams from all four districts of Sikkim, Kalimpong and Darjeeling have participated in the tournament which is being organised by Sikkim Christian Sports Association. The Final Match of the tournament will be played on 30th November 2019.
