Namchi, 14th October (IPR): Mr. Alak Kumar Saharia, General Observer for Bye Elections for 10 Poklok Kamrang Assembly Constituency visited various polling stations today. He was accompanied by Sector Magistrate Mr. R. B. Bhandari, Liasion Officer Mr. Chewang Bhutia, Polling Stations and Basic Minimum Incharge Mr. Tenzing Bhutia and other election officials.
The General Observer inspected various polling stations at Chisopani, Denchung, Poklok, Tinik, Dhargaon Dorop and Salghari. At the polling stations Mr. Saharia enquired the adequate measures that have been undertaken to fulfill the basic minimum requirements of the voters. He added that proper exit doors has to be set up and printed information regarding the elections need to be put up at the stations.
In addition, he also interacted with the students and headmasters wherein the polling station has been put up. He further explained the students about the significance of elections in a democratic country like ours, the functioning of Election Commission of India and how voting is one of the vital responsibility of the Indian citizens.
During the course of the tour Mr. Saharia also met with the teams of police personnel’s, flying squads and video surveillance.
