HCM attends Teej Festival at Hee-Gaon in West Sikkim

Gyalshing, 01 Sept (IPR): Teej Festival organised by All Sikkim Khas Chettri Baun Yuwa Sangha was celebrated in a grand manner wherein Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) attended the festival as chief guest.

He was accompanied by MP Lok Sabha, Shri Indra Hang Subba; Shri L.N. Sharma, Minister of Agriculture and IPR; Shri Bhim Hang Subba, Minister of PHE; Shri M.P. Subba, Administrative Advisor to HCM; Shri C.P. Sharma, Press Advisor to HCM; Shri D.B. Gurung, Chairman (SBS); Spiritual leader Shri Rohit Raj Maharaj, along with District Officials and dignitaries.

The HCM spoke on the celebration of Teej Festival and wished all for making the festival a grand success. He also emphasized on the communal harmony of Sikkim and how each individual is responsible of cleaning his/her surroundings.

Shri Tamang also announced to adopt Government Senior Secondary School, Soreng from his personal level and directed Ministers, MLAs, Panchayats to adopt a school and maintain cleanliness in order to support Swachha Bharat Mission envisioned by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. He also announced to establish Shridham Brindaban Mandir at Dodak and to develop the area as one of the religious and tourist destination.

Speaking in the context of demands placed by the Press Advisor to HCM, Shri C.P. Sharma, he announced to establish Women Waiting House in the premises of New STNM Hospital and to provide financial assistance for the treatment of Breast and Ovarian cancer.

The HCM urged all to join hands and work for the upliftment of the State’s progress. He also mentioned that the Singshore Bridge would soon be renovated into a glass bridge for boosting the tourism sector in the region. He also mentioned that demands placed by the Hon’ble MP and Hon’ble Press Advisor would be sanctioned on priority basis.

Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Shri Indra Hang Subba, underlined strength of unity amongst all communities and indicated harmonized culture and tradition as a major factor behind existence of unified undivided society.

He also placed various demands including establishment of Residential School, renovation of Singshore Bridge, upgradation of Bongten Secondary School to Senior Secondary level, ropeway from Ferek to Nedam, new road connectivity to Bhalukhop, Modernisation of existing PHSC at Hee Gaon, Stadium at Dentam, Ten Room School Building at Hee Yangthang SSS and construction of public ground at Hee Gaon, etc.

Press Advisor to HCM, Shri C.P. Sharma, emphasised on the historic significance of Teej festival and paid honour to women and their healthy bonding with their spouse. Shri Sharma who was also the chief patron of the organizing committee placed demands to establish a women waiting house at the premises of Multi Speciality New STNM Hospital at Sichey and to provide financial assistance for the treatment of Breast cancer and Ovarian Cancer patients.

Spiritual leader Shri Rohit Raj Maharaj, in his address, expressed heartiest gratitude to the Chief Minister for the announcement to establish Shridham Brindaban at Dodak/West Sikkim.
